"The Road Home"
2000 G 89 minutes
Veteran director Yimou Zhang helms this enduring love story starring Ziyi Zhang (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) as Zhao Di, a young country girl who falls head over heels for the village's new schoolteacher, Luo Changyu (Hao Zheng), in 1950s China. The couple's demure courtship is cut short when the new communist government summons Luo to the city for questioning during the Cultural Revolution, leaving Zhao to wait longingly for his return.

First I have to say that I loved this movie, it was emotional and sweet. There were some parts where there wasn't any talking or much music, but I understood it still. Thou for younger kids I don't know if they would like it, just because it is kinda slow and not any action. But very much worth the watch. It doesn't have any nudity, or anything else like that, just a sweet story about a girl falling in love (a small amount of flirting ~.^) and then later on when her husband is dead and her son comes back to bury him, it brings the son closer to his mom. So it is sad, but not overly so. It has so many sweet things.
And the tradition to walk the dead home is sweet when you understand why she wanted to. It was their road home. But, yes, if you like Asian movies... then I highly suggest you watch "The Road Home"
